Dear Mr. Berman,
I just picked-up a copy of "Tosh." and I am having a marvelously good time reading it. It's very good for the soul. I also have a question, and I hope that I can somehow reach you this way. You write a little about Loree Foxx in chapter 2. And you mention there that Loree at some point moved to a "farm" in a desert town near Palm Springs. Do you recall the name of the town? Was it Joshua Tree, Ca? You write that she and apparently Donald had two lions and various other exotic animals on the property. I grew up in Joshua Tree (1960-1972), and my mother became friends with a couple in Joshua Tree who kept two lions and other animals. We did not have television, and my mother loved the Bolshoi Ballet. The couple invited my parents to watch a special program of the company at their home, and I (a small boy then) recall watching the ballet there --oddly enough I only remember that my mother and I were present, but others must have been there, too. In any case, I have a vague recollection that the woman's name was "Lorie Fox." I am curious if this could be your "Loree Foxx." No one in our little town knew anything at all about the couple, and they were known as "the Beatniks." But my mother as was always her way found very common ground with them and we would visit their home from time to time. Well, sorry for the long story if the names and lion ownership in the desert near Palms Springs turns out to be a very odd coincidence. Thanks so much for writing Tosh.
